South Africa achieved its freedom in 1994 and established formal Diplomatic Relations with the People’s Republic of China in 1998. The bilateral relations between us are warm, strategic and mutually beneficial. In 2008, South Africa and the People’s Republic of China celebrated 10 years of Diplomatic Relations. The relationship is growing stronger year on year as we move towards a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between our two countries.
